G | Google Business Profile Mastery — Get Found Fast in the Local Park
Be found where renters are already looking.
If your agency doesn’t appear when someone searches “car rental near me,” you’re losing bookings you didn’t even know existed.
Your Google Business Profile (GBP) is the single most important free tool to get in front of people looking to rent in your area. It isn’t just for Maps anymore. The top three Map results also show up in Google’s “Local Pack” above the organic results; and GBPs feed information to Google’s AI search results, and to voice assistants - right when people are ready to book.
Yet many independent agencies never reach the coveted Local Pack (the top 3 map results). That’s what this week’s Playbook is about: getting your business to show up and stay visible.
The Pain Point
You might have great reviews, a sharp website, and a fair rate, but if your profile isn’t properly optimized, Google hides you.
Common reasons include:
Inconsistent business name, address, and phone (NAP) data
Missing categories or outdated descriptions
Weak or missing photos
Low review activity
Unused features like services, booking links, or Q&A
The Quick Win
You can fix the biggest visibility issues in 15 minutes using our GBP Optimization Checklist (download here).
This quick tune-up boosts local ranking signals instantly and often moves listings up within a week.

Step-by-Step: Use the 15-Minute Optimization Checklist
Step 1 — Sign in and scan your current profile
Go to business.google.com.
Check that your business name, address, phone, and website match what’s on your website and other directories exactly. Even small differences hurt your visibility.
Step 2 — Choose the right primary and secondary categories
Your primary category affects where you appear. Use “Car Rental Agency,” “Van Rental Agency,” or “Truck Rental Agency” as your main category.
Add a few secondary ones such as “SUV Rental,” “Luxury Car Rental,” or “Equipment Rental” if they apply.
Step 3 — Fill in your services and description
Add specific services such as “Airport pickup,” “One-way rentals,” or “Long-term leasing.”
Write a short 750-character description that includes your location, fleet types, and what makes your agency unique.
Step 4 — Add new photos
Profiles with fresh photos rank higher. Upload at least:
1 exterior photo (helps customers recognize your lot)
1 interior photo (front desk or customer area)
3–5 vehicle photos showing variety and quality
Repeat monthly.
Step 5 — Enable Contact and booking links
Make it easy for customers to reach you directly. Add your phone number, website, or preferred contact link so people can call or message you with one tap.
If you use online booking, add your link under “Bookings” or “Website.”
Step 6 — Post once a week
GBP posts keep your profile active and help you stand out. Share quick promos, new arrivals, seasonal offers, or even local events.
Step 7 — Ask for 3 fresh reviews this week
Google loves recent activity. Ask renters to share a photo or mention what they rented (“Loved the Mustang convertible for exploring Miami!”). It boosts trust and ranking.
